114 NC lawmakers support no confidence motion

KATHMANDU: Claiming that 114 party lawmakers have supported the party bid to table no-confidence motion, Nepali Congress has called the government to summon the Legislature-Parliament of the Constituent Assembly at the earliest.

A meeting of its Parliamentary Party meeting held on Wednesday made such decision to this effect stating that the session is necessary to amend Article 70 of the Interim Constitution for introducing a short cut to promulgate the new constitution.

It has warned to call a special session of the House if the government failed to address its demands.Party spokesperson Navin Raj Joshi however said that the party is not yet decided on tabling the no motion and would consult other parties on the issue.

The party has given the responsibility to discuss the issue with other parties to three senior leaders of the party.
