UML for 165 constituencies

BHAKTAPUR: Opposition CPN (UML) has said that the election constituencies for the federal election should be 165 as ensured by the Constitution of Nepal. 

The standing committee (SC) meeting of the party held at chairman KP Sharma Oli’s residence in Balkot today decided not to accept the government proposal to hold the federal election by keeping existing 240 constituencies intact, chief of UML’s publicity department Yogesh Bhattarai said.
The meeting has also demanded to constitute a separate commission to determine the province delineation as early as possible for holding the provincial elections.
The meeting has also decided to continue talks with the Madhes-centric party, Bhattarai said. “Party has expected a concrete result. Positive outcome will come out soon, he added. RSS
