Tribhuvan Army club, APF club win in national volleyball tournament

POKHARA: Tribhuvan Army club and Armed Police Force club won in the 31st male and 21st female national volleyball tournament played at Pokhara Stadium on Saturday.
In male category, the army club beat the APF 25-12, 25-23 and 25-15, while the APF club in female category defeated the central region 25-18, 25-14 and 25-10.
In male group, the western region stood third, and the Nepal Police club in female category.
The winner, first runner-up and second runner-up received Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 in cash respectively, and trophies, medals, certificates at an event organised later the day which was attended by Minister of State for Youth and Sports Teju Lal Chaudhary, who distributed the trophies, and medals to the winners.
Man Bahadur Shrestha of the Army Club, and Saraswati Chaudhary of the APF club were declared best player, and received Rs 25,000 in cash each and certificates.
The tournament was organised by the Nepal Volleyball Association in coordination with the National Sports Council. The Western Region Volleyball Association played the managerial part.
Speaking at the event, Chaudhary said he would do his part to manage budget for the development of sport infrastructure in Pokhara. RSS
