SC rejects recognition to internationally recognized Olympic Committee

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) has rejected granting national recognition to the internationally recognized National Olympic Committee.
A division bench of justice duo, Deepak Raj Joshi and Dambar Bahadur Shahi today denied giving recognition to Jeevan Ram Shrestha-led internationally recognized National Olympic Committee.
Demanding national recognition to his committee reasoning it was already recognized internationally, Chairperson Shrestha had registered a writ petition at the apex court. The Supreme Court had acquitted the writ refusing national recognition to the committee after hearing.
Before this the court had issued a verdict giving national recognition to the Olympic Committee led by Rukma Shumsher Rana.
Shrestha moved the court challenging the verdict. RSS
