NC-led democratic alliance organises election assembly at Palungtar

GORKHA: The Nepali Congress-led democratic alliance organized an election assembly at Palungtar of Gorkha Saturday. 

NC senior leader Ramchandra Poudel, general secretary Shashanka Koirala, Naya Shakti Party coordinator and Gorkha constituency no. 2 candidate from the alliance, Dr Baburam Bhattarai, industrialist Binod Chaudhary, NC central members Kamala Pant, Surendra Raj Pandey, Naya Shakti’s leader Devi Ojha, actress Karishma Manandhar and Gyanendra Kumar were among those addressing the event.
Poudel terms left alliance extreme opportunist
On the occasion, NC senior leader Poudel accused the CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Center) of forging the leftist alliance to just serve their self-interest and was the reflection of extreme opportunism.
He claimed that the UML’s activities were intended at splitting the nation in contrary to its high sounding slogans for nationalism.
He took the time to claim that the NC which was credited to taking the leadership of the peace process and constitution promulgation was capable of bringing prosperity at home.
Oli, Dahal are not communists: Baburam
Similarly, also addressing the programme, Naya Shakti party coordinator and Constituency no 2 candidate Dr Bhattarai accused UML Chair KP Sharma Oli and Maoist Centre chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal of just wearing the mask of communist leaders. “In real sense, they are not communists at all.”
Pledging his best to safeguard democracy, he questioned the parties who took unethical benefits from the Ncell, private telecom company and the Budhi Gandaki Hydro Power Project could be the communist parties.
“The NC is a leftist force. But we are against the one-party rule as said by the Communists,” said Bhattarai who has formed an electoral alliance with the Congress .
Noticeable change in five years: Koirala
Nepali Congress General Secretary Sashank Koirala has said time has come to conclude political agenda and to devote to development and prosperity. “Development of villages, cities and the entire country should be the agenda,” he underscored, adding that people would realize noticeable change in coming five years.
NC has led development: Chaudhary
Industrialist Binod Chaudhary has said Nepali Congress has led country’s development, so it is wise to vote for democratic alliance.
“Investment from private sector grew up largely after the NC introduced liberal economic policy. The country is getting gradual development. Political issues have been settled. Only NC’s leadership helps prosper the country,” he argued. RSS

Development should not be halted by voting for communists – NC leader Poudel

LAMJUNG: Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel has said that the country’s development should not be halted by voting the communists.
Addressing an extensive mass meeting organized by the Nepali Congress in Besisahar here on Saturday, he said, “Communists can only create problems and not address them. The Nepali Congress addresses the problems. It is the Nepali Congress that fixed the problem arising from the Rana rule, the Panchayat autocracy, the people’s war and the Madhes uprising.”
The NC senior leader urged the voters to vote for the Nepali Congress and make it victorious in the election for the country’s development.
“Lamjung, which has vast potentials for development in every sector, should get the opportunity for the same,” Poudel said.
Speaking on the occasion, NC general secretary Dr Shashank Koirala said that the Nepali Congress-led governments have worked for the development of the country. It is the NC that has developed motorable roads, medical colleges, universities, drinking water projects, employment, among other sectors, he added.
Candidate for the House of Representatives election from the party, Dil Bahadur Gharti insisted on making the democratic alliance victorious in the election for the all-round development of the country. He said that the leftist unity might endanger democracy and the NC’s victory was needed even to safeguard democracy in the country.
Candidate for the State Assembly election from Lamjung district constituency (B), Krishna Prasad Koirala said it was the Nepali Congress that led the development campaign in Lamjung and so the victory of the democratic alliance was needed to complete this campaign.
Candidate for the State Assembly from Lamjung district constituency (A), Garja Bahadur Gurung also urged the voters to make the democratic alliance victorious in the election for the development of the country and protection and promotion of democracy. RSS
