International Maithili Conference begins in Janakpurdham

JANAKAPURDHAM: The 29th International Maithili Conference kicked off inJanakpurdham from Saturday. 

Maithili writers from Nepal and India are participating in the two-day event organised by the International Maithili Council.
Inaugurating the conference, former Chief Justice Ram Kumar Prasad said deficient of enthusiasm in the use of the Maithili language has obstructed the further development of the language and its protection.
Linguistic Dr Ram Awatar Yadav and Prof Dr Asha Sinha sought initiations from every quarter for the further promotion and protection of the Maithili language.
Litterateur Ram Bharos Kapadi Bhramar drew the attention of the government towards recognising the Maithili language as the official language of the Province 2.
Seminar and a poetry symposium on the Maithili literature, art and culture are the parts of the conference. RSS
