Maoist indecisiveness takes toll on SC meeting

N24 Correspondent, KATHMANDU- Following the inability of the Maoist to finalize their bottom line on peace and statute drafting process, the meeting of the Special Committee (SC) for the integration, rehabilitation, and management of Maoist combatants was deferred on Thursday.

 

the meeting of SC was postponed after Maoist leaders requested to put off the meeting unless their Central Committee meeting finalizes party's bottom line on issues related army integration among others.

 

Maoist Standing Committee member Barsha Man Pun informed the ruling and opposition leaders that the party’s ongoing meeting would take concrete decisions to end the stagnation over peace process.

 

Apart from Pun, Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal, UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel, Nepali Congress representatives Ram Sharan Mahat and Minendra Rijal attended the discussion at the cross party committee.

 

Madhesi members Jaya Prakash Prasad Gupta and Jitendra Dev couldn’t show up as they were busy in the meeting of the Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha.
