Muslims celebrate Id ul-Fitr across nation, Prez, PM extend wishes

aN24 Correspondent, KATHMANDU: On the occasion of the great festival of the Islam community Id ul-Fitr, President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has wished for peace and prosperity among all the Muslim brothers and sisters living at home and abroad.

In a greeting message of Id ul-Fitr on Sunday, the President has expressed the confidence that the festival would provide us encouragement to promote mutual unity, goodwill and support and brotherhood by promoting all our festivals, costumes, languages, cultures and traditions.

The President has also expressed the conviction that Nepal would become richer culturally by the preservation and promotion of all such festivals.

Similarly, Vice-President Parmanand Jha has extended best wishes to all Muslims brothers and sisters on the occasion of Id ul-Fitr.

The Vice-President has said the festival would encourage all to move ahead on the path of consensus and coordination by uniting all the people.

Likewise, Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has expressed Id Mubarak to all the Muslims.

In his greeting message, the Prime Minister has said that as a multilingual, multicultural, multi-religious and multiethnic country Nepal has been enjoying religious tolerance and goodwill since centuries ago.

“Unity in diversity is Nepal’s identity. Brotherhood, mutual goodwill, tolerance and reconciliation are characteristics of all religions. Festivals are encouraging one and all to move ahead in the nation building process by maintaining friendship with the message of peace, goodwill and reconciliation,” the Prime Minister said in his message.

Similarly, Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister and Chairman of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Nepal (Democratic), has extended best wishes on the occasion of the Id ul-Fitr of the Islam community for their happiness and prosperity.

He said such festivals would help foster cooperation and tolerance among all Nepalis belonging to diverse language, caste, and cultures.

Moreover, Minister for Physical Planning, Works and Transport Management Hridayesh Tripathi and Minister for Information and Communications Raj Kishor Yadav have also wished peace, prosperity, unity and brotherhood to the Nepalis from diverse communities on the occasion of Id festival. RSS
