N24 Correspondent, KATHMANDU: Chairman of the CPN (UML) Jhalanath Khanal has said that the recently-formed Federal Democratic Republican Alliance (FDRA) under the leadership of UCPN (Maoist) would bring about country’s disintegration.
The UCPN (Maoist) formed the alliance to accomplish its strategy of running an authoritarian regime and this alliance is the result of anti-national and secessionist forces, Khanal said addressing a party meeting at Bidur in Nuwakot on Friday.
Khanal further said that the present coalition cannot open up the door to consensus as it was an alliance of extreme leftists and extreme rightist forces.
He also said that the coalition parties formed the alliance aiming to sideline other parties, pushing the country into further confrontation.
Similarly, UML politburo member Mahendra Bahadur Pandey said that the Maoists were effortful to capture the state power in the name of country people.
Meanwhile, speaking at a separate programme in Butwal on Friday, UML secretary Bishnu Paudel said the present political and constitutional crises were the result of Maoists’ stubbornness. Paudel said the UCPN (Maoist) was dreaming to impose totalitarianism but people would foil this.
He said the country was facing the result of going for constituent assembly elections without disarming the Maoist party.
