N24 Correspondent, KATHMANDU: Civil society leaders have pointed out that Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai is to blame for the worse health condition of Prof. Dr. Govinda KC, an orthopedic specialist of TU Teaching Hospital.
At a face-to-face programme organized here today, Nepal Medical Association’s (NMA) former chairman Dr Kedar Narsingh KC called on all to save the life of Dr. KC who is in fast-unto- death campaign for respect of seniority in appointing officials in the hospital.
He objected to the political appointment in the academic council against the law and expressed regret that the government did not take any heed on the fast.
TU NUTA Chairman Dr. Yogendra Parabariya also expressed solidarity to the agitation launched by the NMA. Nepal Engineers Association’s Mahendra Bahadur Gurung said it will also express solidarity to the agitation led by PAPAD.
Nepal Bar Association Chairman Prem Bahadur Khadka called on journalists to write for saving his life, whereas NMA Chairman Dr. Kiran Prasad Shrestha pointed out Bhattarai government as responsible if anything untoward happens to Dr. KC’s life.KC is in fast-unto-death for the past five days at Teaching Hospital demanding appointment of Dean and other important officials on seniority basis.
